Yarn count Calculator
find our easy to use Yarn count calculator. calculate yarn count either by hank/skein method, or from draft. this calculator easily provide yarn count for plied yarns also.
This is the standard lab/mill-floor method: wind a known length of yarn, weigh it, and calculate the count. Used daily to verify spun yarn against the target count.

Since weight is usually measured in grams in the lab:
Ne = (Length in yards × 453.6) ÷ (840 × Weight in grams)
This is the calculation most students get wrong: the resultant count of plied/folded yarn is not simply the single count divided by the number of plies in every case — it follows the reciprocal rule below, which matters especially when plying yarns of different counts together.
Enter each single yarn's count (Ne)

Formula used
Shortcut when all singles are equal:
Resultant Ne = Single Ne ÷ Number of plies
Used to predict the yarn count that will come off the ring frame, based on the roving count fed in and the draft applied during spinning.

Reverse use: Draft Required = Target Yarn Ne ÷ Roving Ne
